Hi, I’m Amanda.

A black and white headshot of Amanda McGill, smiling and wearing a sleeveless high-neck top, with a septum piercing, set against a light purple background.

I’ve been a storyteller all my life—but I became a copywriter in 2019, shortly after graduating from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Since then, I’ve written for dozens of brands across just as many industries, including apparel, automotive, beauty, education, finance, healthcare, and technology. I’ve even dabbled in film and music.

But no matter the industry, my real passion remains the same: making advertising feel more human. Because without humanity, it’s all just noise.

Now, a few non-work things, if you’re curious.

  • I grew up in rural Minnesota with 10 siblings—eight brothers and two sisters.

  • My husband and I eloped in the Outer Banks during Covid and honeymooned in Iceland two years later.

  • I currently live in Lexington, North Carolina, but dream of bigger and better things. It’s really too bad I bought a house when rates were so low.

  • We have a fat, orange cat and a mouthy, pit-lab mix who are both determined to bankrupt us with their constant issues. Recently, the cat distribution system decided to drop a new kitten off in our garage. Spoiler alert: we are foster failures.
